“In 2019 I was put on medication for health reasons. Over time I had gained 50 pounds being on that medication. Fast forward to August 2022 I weaned myself off of that medication and started to taking my health back with a more natural approach with some guidance. The picture on the left is from Sept 2022. The picture on the right is from June 2023. The weight loss is a 30 pound difference. I was exercising consistently but needed to improve my nutrition. With proper exercise and nutrition I am feeling better than I have in years! I cannot stress the importance of taking care of your health enough. I eat well and exercise consistently. Not only does that help me physically but mentally as well. I just feel better overall. Take care of your health so you can live your best life"

"Having very severe scoliosis but also the love for getting under bone crushing weight has always caused me a great deal of obstacles and complications. I’ve always had a tough time separating my own expectations from what others are capable of.
The Grind U mindset, as I understand it, is to always continue to move forward and progress, by comparing yourself to yesterday’s performance or last week’s lifts or who you were even 10 minutes ago. Comparing yourself to yourself, and being determined, will guarantee that you’re getting better. Whoever you were the day before, can always be made more exceptional through consistency and hard work.
When I was able to work with Matt, I gained a better understanding of that mindset, and have been able to safely and tenaciously move forward and progress in each of the lifts I love doing so much. More than that, I’ve been able to be impressed and excited with how far I’ve come. Every day is a chance to do something you never thought you could do."

“Seven years ago today, I was stopped dead in my tracks. Unable to walk, unable to catch my breath, with the weight of the world on my chest. I thought I might have just pulled a muscle but really was much worse. I was having a Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD), my coronary artery had two tears which prevented me from getting proper blood flow through my heart and to the rest of my body.
Seven years ago today, I was told I would never be able to truly be active again. I would never run, never swim, never bike, or even be able to pick my kids up for the possibility that I could have another SCAD heart attack.
After researching, and finding a doctor, who specialized in SCAD (props to Dr Malissa Wood at Mass General - also to a dear friend Kathy Neely who put me in touch with someone from the College of Cardiology) , and I am happy to say im able to do all the things that I love.
Life is a journey, it’s constantly you versus you. What you get out of it is what you put in. These past 7 years have had there up and downs battling other injuries but I trying to stay focus and keep moving, Keep Grinding.”
